Not only does SES offer comprehensive engineering services, but we have the capability of being on-site to meet your individualized needs.
While we can provide our services independently, combining our services to provide a comprehensive solution is our real strength. As an example, for a customer seeking to optimize a component for reduced weight or cost, we begin by white light scanning and measuring the baseline part to generate CAD and FEA models of the part. The loads acting on the part are then determined by either instrumenting a prototype or by computer simulation of the system. We then perform an FEA analysis, interpret the results, and work through several iterations to optimize the design. CAD drawings and an engineering report are then provided to the customer to show the final, optimized part as well as the details of the analysis.
Another example of SES providing a comprehensive solution is the process of optimizing a racecar setup to best utilize the available grip. We begin by performing the appropriate tire testing and fitting the data to our in-house custom tire model. Concurrently, the chassis and components are measured to build a vehicle model for our simulation programs. SES then runs the appropriate simulation and validates the results against data we have acquired from instrumented testing. The simulation results are utilized by our in-house tire and vehicle optimization software to guide vehicle setup and improve on track performance.
