Damper Overview
With a programmable damper dynamometer (dyno), complete rebuilding tools and a wide selection of components for major damper brands on-site, SES is able to provide damper testing and build services for a wide range of clients. From motorsports to production, military and off-road vehicles, SES has the build and simulation capabilities to provide solutions to your damper questions.
Damper Testing
A programmable damper dyno uses a linear actuator instead of a rotary actuator. For benchmarking with existing damper data, our programmable dyno can provide rotary dyno-style cyclical inputs as well as apply track data inputs to the actuator so dampers can be tuned for individual tracks. Given vehicle and track parameters, SES can also advise on initial damper builds that will give stable damping characteristics.
Damper Modeling
SES provides its clients the opportunity to combine damper testing with predictive component-based damper modeling. After establishing a database of damper characteristics, SES’ damper model predicts optimum damper builds given vehicle and track data. After correlation to test data and driver preferences, predictive damper modeling becomes a powerful tool that improves track testing efficiency and the vehicle’s setup for ultimate speed.
